Our Pastoral Team

Lead Pastor

Pastor Aaron and Sister Laura Amundson joined the Refuge City Church pastoral team in 2025. They have lived and served in Cedar Rapids through various non-profits and community-based agencies for 17 years. They currently live on the SE side of town with their two children, Abigail and Elliot, and their mother-in-law, Gail. They are excited to be a part of all that Jesus is doing at Refuge City.

Assistant Pastor

Brother Tom and Sister Mary Jo Piña have been on the pastoral team of Refuge City Church for 5 years and serve as the Assistant Pastors. Brother and Sister Pina live on the NE side of Cedar Rapids. They currently oversee many of the ongoing projects and outreaches facilitated by Refuge City Church.

Refuge City Ministries

Our ministry staff work very hard to make sure our services and classes are bible based and led by the Lord.

Ashley La Tour

Ashley is in charge of R-Kid’s Ministry Team Ashley is passionate about Children’s Ministry and works very hard with her team to ensure that your kids have a great time.

Tom Piña

Tom heads up our adult Sunday School classes as well as being on the Pastoral Team.

Steve La Tour

Steve along with teaching in our adult Sunday School class, is the office administrator here at Refuge City Church.
